Rick Hendrick thought Kasey Kahne possessed so much racing talent that he signed him in April 2010 to begin racing for him in 2012, with no sponsor for him and no team for Kahne to drive for in 2011. Despite the uncertainty, Hendrick made the commitment to Kahne. He wanted the driver who had won 11 Cup races (he now has 12 career victories) and shown much promise.

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. ? With a smaller restrictor plate, drivers saw their speeds decrease Saturday morning during testing at Daytona International Speedway. Hendrick Motorsports drivers Kasey Kahne and Jeff Gordon turned laps of 201.545 mph using a two-car draft, more than five miles per hour slower than the top speeds Friday afternoon.

After a busy offseason, most of the big driver and team moves for 2012 are finally over. Amazingly, the moves started in April 2010 and didn?t end until January 2012.

Kasey Kahne will drive in 15 Nationwide Series races for Turner Motorsports, while rookie Brad Sweet will drive the remaining 18 in the No. 38 car sponsored by Great Clips, the team announced Monday. Kahne has had a long-standing relationship with the hair salon chain, and Sweet is a driver for Kasey Kahne Racing who also competed in select races in trucks the last three years, including last season at Turner Motorsports.

Kasey Kahne has apologized for a tweet about breastfeeding in public that caused a bit of a stir on Twitter. After seeing someone breastfeeding in a grocery store, the Hendrick Motorsports driver tweeted Wednesday that he had lost his appetite and that he thought it was nasty.
